Background to invention

High ceilings and wall sanding tasks were commonly encountered by the inventor [ Mathew Norton ] formerly one of Australia's largest drywall sanding contractors. 

Not only were these high area's very time consuming to sand, but also very dangerous to reach as the scaffolding supplied by the principle drywall contractor in the domestic housing industry was generally of an illegal makeshift nature and often consisted of only a couple of A frames and aluminum planks.  

Motivated firstly by a personal fear of heights, this idea was developed after much trial and error over the preceding years.  Once developed Mathew Norton then found that he unconsciously also used this tool for low ceilings and walls, as it was of much lighter weight than his giraffe sander.
